500
years old temple built on 1503 AD. The only temple has been survived from
Burmese troop in perfect condition. It was the enemy's base on the river bank
used to attack the grand palace.

Ubosot
Architecture
from early Ayutthaya is outstanding with wooden carved gable in form of Vishnu
on Garuda with Naka and Rahu under his feet. Ubosot is 50 meters long, without
windows, but the light come through the outlets. The columns are decorated with
lotus-bud head with genuine Ayutthaya style. The ceiling is the gilded carved
wooden of star pattern.

Principal Buddha
He is the most beautiful and largest
Buddha with regal attire in the country with 6 meters high, 4.40 meters wide.
The Buddha with regal attire is the original Ayutthaya art. It is Devaraj
concept which trying to merge the king with religion.

It is located on the left side of ubosot. It is the home of green stone Buddha in sitting posture with hanging legs. He is one of five Buddha images created in Khantararat art style, Dvaravati in Thailand.

is the original Ayutthaya architecture in good condition. Helpful to understand

This temple was built along the river
outside the city of Ayutthaya. On the occasion of King Prasat Thong overcome
Cambodia (Phnom Penh) on 1630 AD, approximately 380 years ago.
Architecture
Show ways to model the universe in
Buddhism by using the model of Angkor Wat. The main prang consist of subsidiary
prangs and 8 chambers surrounded by a balcony. Each chamber enshrine double
sitting Buddha in regal attire in Rueankaew frame, but few figures remain.
There are traces of mural paintings and carved-wooden ceilings. And 120 Buddha
images placed along the balcony.
On river bank opposite the temple is
Siriyalai Palace of Her Majesty the Queen.

In addition to cycling or charter Froggy Tuk Tuk
across the bridge to the temple. You
can take a boat along the river. This method you can see other temples located
on the waterfront also. There are several boat operators service on different

Old temple built before the founding
of Ayutthaya 26 years, nearly 700 years ago, located just outside the old city.
The legend told that it was created by King Sai Nam Phueng. (No title in the
history of Thailand).
People come here to pay homage to
Luang Pho To (Big Buddha); sitting Buddha 19 meters tall, the largest in the country. He is
also highly esteemed by the Chinese. There are four annual events to celebrate
such as Chinese New Year and Songkran Festival.
Also in the ubosot enshrine the Sukhothai Buddha images made
of gold, and electrum. They were covered by concrete to hide the enemy during
the second war with Burmese and were discovered later.

The centre of artifacts discovered in the province of

In the past, Thai people used
elephants as vehicle in routine life or in battle field or work in the forest.
Elephants are very important. They had to catch and train wild elephants for
working regularly.
Elephant kraal is located not far from
the old city in the north. The king came here to see the catching wild elephant
rite. It consists of the pavilion, strong wooden fences and small sala is
located in the middle of courtyard for mahout.
Currently this place is the kraal that
inherited the value of elephant like in the past.
Even though we don't catch the wild
elephants and fight on their back anymore.
