Banteay Srei, the Pink Temple
Visited Banteay Srei 2
times: morning - afternoon was the opportunity to capture a beautiful morning
scenes and fully appreciate the historic site in the afternoon when fewer
tourists there.

The pink sandstone building
and delicate pattern carving, Banteay Srei also has exhibition centre
presenting the archaeological and historical interest. This requires a fairly
long time to visit.
After finishing the exhibition,
I think Musee Guimet Paris probably is one of organisation who own most
magnificent Angkor art collections outside Cambodia.

Kbal Spean, 1,000 Lingas
We have to walk up to the
mountain for 1,500m, which is easier than you think. Along the way, there are rocks and
trees to shade and some resting stops. In January, water level in stream is
relatively low, some of the sculptures dry, a bit disappointed. However the
underwater sculptures for worship the God and smart way to produce Holy Water
are the wonderful ideas.
Also on the same route we
could go to Phnom Kulen.
3 Historic sites are
located Northeast of Siem Reap city. By limited time it is not easy to get all 3 on
the same day.
Distances:
Banteay Srei 32km from Siem
