experimentation and promotion of Para Rubber, the prime economical tree of Southeast
Asia.
The big role of greening
and transformation of Singapore into the Garden City.
Heritage Zone
Botany centre and Tanglin
core is the original location of SBG. The heritage trip should be started from
Tanglin gate as a loop along Heritage Trail. I limit to explore SBG only this
zone. Other zone of SBG is not submitted to UNESCO as world heritage site.
A visit to entire SBG may
take 1 day. For Tanglin core only, I took 3hrs with lunch at one of SBG
restaurants.

How to reach the SBG on the right area
Please go to Tanglin gate for heritage visit, SBG is large (76-hectare), other entrances are far from heritage zone.
I took a bus NO 174 from
Orchard Boulevard bus stop (Orchard MRT exit B) to Tanglin gate. See the
Gleanagles Hospital on right side and get off at the bus stop opposite the
hospital. Tanglin gate is 80m from the hospital.
For private cars, parking available.
